Nightly Skin Care Routine!

Hello everyone! Just curious… do certain skincare products stop working on your skin after about 4 weeks or so? I seem to have to switch certain products out all the time. Anyways today I am going to share my nightly skin care routine with you all. Before I begin I feel like I should let you guys know about my skin situation; I have breakouts all the time and I’m not 100% sure if its acne or dirt and oils getting trapped or if its just something that I intake that my body doesn’t handle well but it’s a very common thing that I have battled with since I was 12, and depending on the seasons and time of year my skin is dry with an oily nose, normal everywhere but the outer edges have dry patches, or combination oily- currently its dry with an oily nose.

Please keep in mind that everything listed is not something I do every night and those particular things are in rotation on an every other night basis. Often times they are replaced with something that is essentially the same but not quite; these things have an asterisk (*) by them. I hope you enjoy!

Step One: *I exfoliate using Burt’s Bee’s Willow Tree and Peach Bark Scrub. I think that this is gritty enough to exfoliate with and I find that it leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth which I like.

Step Two: *I use Freeman Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Peel Off Mask to basically clean really deep and pull out any impurities that I may have.

Step Three: Possibly my current favorite product of the moment, Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Cream Wash is my nightly face cleanser.

Step Four: As a toner I use Avon Blackhead Eliminating Daily Astringent with a round cotton pad

Step Five: *As I let the toner dry, I exfoliate my lips with a tooth brush and then apply an EOS Lip Balm. (On nights I don’t exfoliate my lips I simply brush my teeth as opposed to doing it after I have completely cleaned my face.)

Step Six: I use 2 ½ pumps of Olay Fresh Effects Long Live Moisture Moisturizer all over my face using a cosmetic wedge.

Step Seven: While I let my moisturizer set in a bit, I apply Carmex lip balm over my lips to give an extra moisturizing layer to make my lips extra soft.

Step Eight: As mentioned, I have dry areas, so to combat them I apply Avon Elements Moisture Boost Night Cream to those dry areas using a cosmetic wedge.

And that is my nightly routine!

*** If you noticed I didn't include a "cleansing" mask then Kudos to you... Currently I am using two different masks for different reasons- Queen Heleen Mint Julep and Freeman Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Peel Off Mask***

But I have a few tips for you guys ;)!

1.       Every other night I tend to boil a pot of water and lean over it with a towel over my head and sheltering the steam over my face. This opens up the pores really well and gives you a better opportunity to clean your face as best as possible.

2.       If possible use the same brand and line of products for your skin care. It makes the products work as best as they can. At the moment my skincare is all over the place because I have too many preferences or I simply have products that I need to use up before purchasing anything else. However, I may-in the near future- go with Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Cream Wash,  Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Clear Scrub, Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Triple Action Toner, Queen Heleen Mint Julep Mask, Olay Fresh Effects Long Live Moisture Moisturizer and Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over Hydrating Gel Moisturizer or Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin and Neutrogena Deep Moisture Night Cream.

3.       Acne Products (MOST) use either Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide make sure that the products you are using are one or the other, don’t mix and match them.

4.       On that same subject, figure out which acne treatment is right for you. Research it and try out 1 type one month and the other the next.

5.       Acne products WILL dry out your skin, so make sure you are moisturizing very well.

6.       It doesn’t matter if you have oily skin, combination skin, or dry skin- you’re not getting the moisture your face/body needs so moisturize!

7.       Change out your bed sheets about once a week… you sweat at night and that oil can and will find its way back into that pretty face of yours.

8.       Stop touching your face. Your hands are dirty.

9.       Before popping that pimple or doing your makeup or washing your face- wash your hands. I keep sanitizer at my vanity/makeup table, in my purse (just in case I get bored during classes or whatever and feel like I will be taking a chance at touching my face), and right beside my sink because let’s face it if I see a pimple it’s getting popped and a mirror is where I criticize myself the most- therefor any imperfections will get noticed.

On a side note… I’m not a dermatologist or a doctor, I have done much research and I am very particular with how my skin is taken care of so what I know is based purely on research and personal preferences.

I hope you enjoyed!

Haul from North Carolina!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I have seriously been beating around the bush to get this post done- all day! I finally sat down to do it and then somehow went on a curious pinning spree on Pinterest and well… now I’m finally here seven hours later. That is so unlike me. I honestly have not been picking up my computer much at all lately so I assume that when I finally got the chance I really went all crazy on finding things I like. I guess that is what makes me a girl! Sorry this post is much delayed, as told I’ve been in Virginia and I would not dare neglect time with my Nana to blog. That would be insane!

Anyways today I thought I would share some stuff I purchased while I was on my way back home from Virginia, passing through North Carolina to dodge traffic because it’s honestly crazy how far traffic is backed up on I-85. While this is not everything I purchased, this is a good bit. I did decide to split this into 3 hauls for the sanity of my own. Also this entire haul is not exactly from North Carolina… I got some samples while in Virginia and decided that I could throw it in here since it was not necessarily purchased by me. So with no further remarks, shall we begin?

(D)- Dollar Tree Purchase
(S)- Sample from Walgreens

Oil Absorbing Blotting Paper 50 sheets: (D) I’ve only ever tried two brands of blotting papers and to be entirely honest… they are all the same. Of course that’s a personal opinion but I find that these are no exception to that opinion. They get the job done! I would repurchase these as I would the others but $3 vs. $1 this is definitely the better buy.

Global Beauty Care Cleansing Cloths 25 Count: (D) I am a sucker for makeup remover wipes from the Dollar Tree. I use them most often when I am doing reviews and videos and when Natilee and Sarah are over. They are cheap and wipe off swatches and mess-ups easily. However, I have found that not all of the wipes are worth that dollar I pay. With that in mind, I would say that these are fairly good wipes. The quality is equal to knock-off brands of Neutrogena makeup wipes.  If you’re into that.

Salon Selectives 3 Minute Hair Therapy Intense Conditioning Treatment: (D) I have yet to give this a go, but as soon as I try it you will surely see a review! On the purchase of this… I am all about some conditioning treatments for my hair and if I can find something that does a great job with a price tag I can swallow its bound to be a blessing!

Swan Strengthening Nail Polish Remover: (D) I have repurchased this a good three times now. Nail polish remover is about the same as a blotting paper to me, it’s all the same- as far as what’s in the bottle. Needless to say, this gets the job done and as much as Natilee uses to remove nail polish it’s a good thing its only a dollar! It’s a good thing I love that little lady!

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash: (S) We all know that this is a holy grail! So no need to review it here and now.

Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo: (S) I have been wanting to give this a try since I first saw it advertised. Many of my friends use the Dove shampoos and conditioners and have recommended it to me multiple times, but my shampoo and conditioner is less than $2 a bottle and I’ve used it for years so we shall see if this changes my mind! Expect to see a review soon.

Dove Oxygen Moisture Conditioner: (S) Again, I have been wanting to give this a go since I first saw an advertisement… expect to see a review soon.

St. Ives Even and Bright Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub: (S) I am very excited to see if this works or not. I have never seen it until now and I have fallen in love with the use of scrubs… so I look forward to reviewing this in the near future!

My Very Basic and Effortless but Highly Glamorous Makeup!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I’m kinda enjoy this new intro of mine- it’s a lot like the intro I use with YouTube! Quick Question, when you blog or vlog do you feel like you are just talking with your viewers? I do it all the time! Anyways, today I thought I would share one of my most worn makeup looks of -literally- all time! It’s super simple and super easy but it looks like you put a ton of effort into it. I just love it! I got the idea from a little bit of Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and some of my fellow classmates.
So tell me how to get this look Kayla. Don’t mind if I do!
Step One: I apply my everyday foundation routine!

Step Two: Then I use Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in Barely Branded and apply it to my eyelids.
Step Three: This step is just something I do when I have the extra time but, I use the Wet ‘n’ Wild
trio in Walking on Eggshells Brow bone shade and highlight my brow bone and inner corner.
Step Four: Then I use Almay Eyeliner in Brown and tight line. Then use E.L.F. Brown Liquid Liner to line my upper lash line.

Step Five: I curl my lashes with N.Y.C. Eyelash Curler and use Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara to coat my lashes. Usually I would wear Benefit They’re Real Mascara and that would be it.
Step Six: Going over the coat of mascara I use Covergirl Clump Crusher to spread out the lashes and elongate them.

Step Seven: Apply E.L.F. Jumbo Glossy Lip Stick in Movie Star.
Step Eight: Apply E.L.F. Lip Gloss in Game On.

And that is my very basic and effortless but highly glamorous makeup look!

If you try it please leave a picture in the comment or send me a email with the looks you’ve created!

Glamorous Mascara Routine!

Hello Everyone! When you think glamorous, big, long lashes… what do you think? Lauren Curtis? False Lashes? I think Mascara! Kayla, do you always have to be the odd ball? Yep, that’s me! Well anywho, anyways, anyjanedoe… wait, what? I think I went too far. Today I thought I might clue you in on what I do to achieve glamorous lashes without the falsies. WHHATTT? No falsies? Yep, no false lashes! What kinda Beauty Guru are you?! Apparently not a normal one! Haha.

I don’t do falsies, I’d just rather spend the money on mascara because I like mascara anyways and I just think that falsies are a little ‘over the top’ sometimes. Don’t get me wrong they are stunning- but I didn’t where false lashes to my junior or my senior prom, not even for my J.R.O.T.C. Military Ball sooo… but hey if that’s what you like, well then that’s who you are and we can’t all always like the same thing. Otherwise… Life. Would. Be. Boring.

So, tell me about this miraculous discovery…!

Step One: Curl those lashes- Base and middle! My tool of choice? N.Y.C. Eyelash curler. It has this spring that I believe helps you hold the curlers there with a firm grab to get a bigger, better, closer, curl.

Step Two: Anyone know my favorite mascara? Maybe. Benefit They’re Real Mascara. Love it! Hate the price! Anyways apply it. Don’t have it? Try Maybelline Falsies Flared… Serves the same purpose in this case.

Step Three: Immediately apply Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara. Millions of lashes. Lots of length. Plenty of volume. No suffering. J

Step Four: Curl lashes again. GIANT LASHES!

Step Five: Take a small index card and coat the tips of lashes with Milani Runway Lashes or Jordana Best Lash.  Personally I hate both mascaras because they are so wet and never dry out in the tiniest amount! But they work well in this case.
Enjoy!
Xoxo,

Kayla <3

What’s on my permit?

(Excuse the shine and tired look... it was a long crazy day, and needed those pics for this post!)
Have you ever wondered what is on someone’s permit or driver’s license? I remember being younger and would always look at them! Still do. Anyways, today I thought I would share what is on my driver’s permit! Well, kinda. I’m sharing how my make-up is!
Truth be told I’m a little behind on the whole driving wagon… I didn’t get my permit until I was 3 months away from being 19. But, I really didn’t have the interest to do so. I’m lucky to have the parents I have to get me back and forth where ever it may be that I needed/wanted to go- on their time of course. Also throughout high school, I have been involved in study programs and band-so I didn’t have the time. After I graduated this year I made it a point to get my permit.
There you go again, all off topic Kayla. Oh right. Here is my makeup look for my driving permit!

Face:

Eyes:

Step One: Who doesn’t like primer? I adore it, mostly anyways… my choice: Miliani Eye Primer. Applied by ring finger. No tricks here!
Step Two: Using the Urban Decay Shadow Brush I simply patted L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte all over the lid. Beautiful!
Step Three: E.L.F. Crease Brush + Urban Decay Naked = Crease Transition Color (Like that math? Me too!)
Step Four: One thing I love more than almost anything in my makeup collection? My Curiouser and Curiouser Eyeshadow palette that I purchase while in Disney! Oddly enough I used the E.L.F. Essential Concealer brush to apply Mushroom (a taupe shade) to the outer ‘v’ and into the crease. Then I blended it using (naturally) E.L.F. Blending Brush.
Step Five: I love highlighting my eyes! #Facehate. Using the ever so popular Wet ‘n’ Wild Eyeshadow Trio in Walking On Eggshells’s Browbone color and E.L.F. Studio ‘C’ Shadow Brush I highlighted the brow bone and inner corner. Possible the prettiest brow bone highlight ever!
Step Six: Ever wonder what eyeliner is a must for my sensitive eyes? Keep going. Almay eyeliner! (No specific name just that- strange) For this look I used the brown pencil. Why? I kinda have the tendency to loose makeup and just pick up whatever eyeliner is visible… so brown works. Outer water line and outer tightline.

Step Seven: See my Glamorous Mascara Routine!

Lips:
Step One: EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint is an amazing lip primer! Not so much on the moisturizing part of things.

Step Two: Lips were stained from the day before with Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in Hibiscus (great for the super-white-teeth-red-lippy) but over top of that is Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in Rosewine <3

Virginia Beauty Haul!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Today I thought it would be a good idea to share a haul consisting of beauty related items. As most of you know I live in little ole Alabama, but I recently went to Virginia because I thought my Nana could use a support system in the loss of my great-grandmother. I really had an amazing time and I am so glad that the opportunity approached itself for me and my daddy to go up there to see her. It’s been years! Now while I went up there for her, I am a daddy’s girl and I spent a large amount of time with Nana and I do not regret it but I really needed some “Daddy-Kayla” time. During this time we went to a few Dollar Trees ($)… which is my favorite store in the whole world! I know so many people frown on this store because its “cheap” but I find some of the most amazing things there. And what have you lost by spending a dollar on something that you may or may not like? Not that much. I also went to Walmart (*) and a store called Dollar Tree Deals (#).

Anyways everything I purchased will probably be spread out into 3 hauls which will be shared strictly to this blog! Also, I may include a small review for some items within this post and others I may include in a side review later on.

On with the haul…
Wet ‘n’ Wild Wild Shine Nail Polish in Sparked: ($) I have the most nail polishes of anyone I know and I just thought, Well I really need more. So what did I do? I bought more… But I swear I had a good reason for each of them. For example, this particular shade was bought for an accent nail color. There is one nail polish put out by Rimmel London called Pink some-thing another and it’s a shade I wear 90% of the time. It’s a nude-mauve-pink with a fairly shiny finish and I have such a hard time finding a color that looks good as an accent nail. Long story made short… I bought this, it works really well, and it dries fast enough for me to like it.

This picture doesn’t do the polish much justice but it’s perfect and shows up exactly the way it shows in the bottle.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Wild Shine Nail Polish Clear Nail Protector: ($) In honesty… I really needed a top coat. I’m not crazy about this one because its very runny and takes a while to dry. But it does make the chipping of polish minimal. So if you can justify that then this is a good top coat for you. I’ll use it but I won’t repurchase it.

L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in Sea Foam: ($) L.A. Colors nail polishes are very hit and miss for me, I would say I have tried all of the shades and about 25% do a good enough job for me to give them a thumbs up. This one is what I decided would look nice on my toes for the final bit of Summer and I am very impressed with it. It isn’t streaky and it dried pretty fast and chipping is minimal. The color is very pretty and I have nothing like it in my collection. So if you see it while out and about it, I’d give it a chance.
Excuse my feet, they are a tiny bit swollen. But I wanted you guys to see the polish after one coat.

L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in Beach Babe: ($) Again, a very hit and miss brand. I had this on my fingernails and I am just not impressed with it. It takes forever to dry and it is very streaky, but it is pretty. Again, I have nothing like it in my collection but I will be on the hunt for something better! It just doesn’t do it for me. But it’s a stunning color.
Maybelline Dream Mousse Shadow in Ivory Illusion: (#) Have you ever seen these in store? Even when the Dream Mousse blushes were around? I never did. Anyways, I will have a review coming up on this one!

Maybelline Limited Edition Dream Mousse Shimmer Eyeshadow in Golden of Eden: (#) Again, I’ve never seen them in store until now. But I will have a review coming up!

L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly Mascara in Blackest Black: (*) I was running low on my Benefit They’re Real Mascara and then when I got to Virginia I couldn’t find it. So I did a little bit of research for a dupe and I stumbled across this suggestion and decided it would be a post for a later date! ;)

Milani The “Multitasker” Face Powder in Medium: (*) My favorite powder in the world has been discontinued… thank you very much Maybelline… I hate you. In fact let me ramble on the thoughts I have of Maybelline. The brand discontinued Dream Mousse Blushes and replaced them with Dream Bouncy Blushes… which are terrible in my opinion. On top of that Maybelline replaced Dream Matte Powder with Dream Wonder which is a disappointment to the beauty world. If you have a good product that is a holy grail to so many people then you should leave well enough alone. For these reasons I pretty much keep my Maybelline purchases to a minimum because if I find a product I like and it is then discontinued... what is the point? To waste my time? Apparently. Anyways, I purchased this powder in hopes to replace Maybelline Dream Matte and I will review it very, very, very soon!

Late Summer Flawless Face and Bonus review!

Hello everyone! Today I have a foundation routine to share with you all. I love foundation, but it’s not one of those things that I wear all that often because I am very cautious of my skin. While I love how flawless my face is by the time my cosmetics have covered my face, I would also just love to get by with a tinted moisturizer and not feel like everyone is staring at my acne- my point here is that foundation can clog pores… I try to keep my pores as squeaky clean as possible. With that said, I wore my second go to foundation today and just thought I would share.

Don’t get me wrong Maybelline Super Stay Foundation is still my absolute favorite foundation by far but when I was in 6th or 7th grade, my best friend –Hannah B. was doing my make-up during a Physical Education class and I remembered how beautiful Avon Ideal Flawless looked on my skin. So my ever so popular best friend Hannah S. (who has been featured here on my blog multiple times) told me her mother was selling Avon, which is one of those company’s everyone forgets about, but they were having a really good sale on foundations and her mother had given me a sample of this particular foundation… needless to say I jumped right on the deal and purchased it for myself.

Despite the reviews this foundation gets, I really like it. It’s full coverage, pretty easy to match to your skin tone, lightweight, and a pretty finish (matte but certainly not too matte- flat. It’s almost a natural finish). It features a sleek design and a pump which is awesome. The number 1 complain that the rest of the world has is there is no SPF, which I frankly don’t mind because the only time I really wear any foundation is when there is a formal event, when I know there will be pictures, and when I should look as put together as possible. So SPF is not a big deal to me. The staying power is about equal to Maybelline Super Stay and while I believe me and the rest of the world would love to say that a foundation stays put and looking the same way it did when it was applied for 12+ hours… that kinda staying power just doesn’t exist in any foundation I’ve tried, found, or even heard reviews about.

Anyways, on with the face!

Step One: I applied the moisturizer of choice in the current age and stage of life… Olay Fresh Effects Long Live Moisture. I personally use a cosmetic wedge to apply moisturizer to my face possibly because I’m a weirdo but I’m also very careful when it comes to my face hygiene.
Step Two: I personally used the E.L.F. Studio Powder brush to apply Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation in Light Nude (which is equivalent to Sand Beige in Maybelline Super Stay foundation). I use two pumps directly on to the brush, dot it all over my face- more specifically in ‘problem areas’, and blend it in a buffing motion. I also bring it down my neck just to make sure its blended well.
Step Three: Using E.L.F.’s Essential Total Face brush I dust Maybelline Dream Matte Powder all over, beginning on the nose, working on to the cheeks, brushing another swipe onto the forehead and then elsewhere. Luckily, I don’t use make-up very often so I still have this little guy around. What do you all think of the new Dream Wonder?
Step Four: Can we take a minute to appreciate E.L.F. Cosmetics? I love not only their brushes but the cosmetics as well. I use the Studio Blusher and Bronzer duo in St. Lucia, I’ve had it two years and just hit pan! Anyways I use the bronzer all-the-time, well every time I do make up, and I always use the E.L.F. Essential Blush Brush. I love the angle it gives me for a nice, strong contour. Personally I start the bronzer at the tragus (basically the middle of the ear) and stop about mid cheek. I then take what is left of the brush and contour the jaw line and then the temples and hair line; one side per dip. Forget the ‘3’ and ‘E’ stuff. It just doesn’t work for me.
Step Five: Over the years I have developed much love to blushers. It really gives you that glow you love in the summer (my favorite blush of all time is what I refer to E.L.F. Studio Blusher and Bronzer duo- Blush side), the ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’ kiss, or the fresh, light pink colors of spring. I personally believe it is just as important with blushes as it is to bring out your seasonal lipsticks, nail polish, clothes, and even scents. Agreed? So because Summer is coming to an end (Thank God!) and Autumn is coming to a beginning in just a few weeks or so I decided to reach for Wet ‘n’ Wild’s Blusher in Pearlescent Pink applied lightly with E.L.F. Studio Blush Brush. Perfect for the transitional weather!
Step Six: Anyone here watch Melissa on YouTube… Ya know “Are ya ready for the weekend baybay”? Well if you do then im 100% positive you know how much she loves highlighting… me on the other hand, I don’t highlight too much as far as the facial part goes. I used the ever-so-popular Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tiki to highlight my cheek-bones, cupid’s bow, and just above my eyebrows with some-no-name-round-short-brush-that-I’m-pretty-postitive-was-meant-for-blush-in-a-stupid-company’s-handbook-but-is-not-at-all-possible-in-my-book brush (:D).
Step Seven: I hear all-the-time how important it is to ‘frame’ your face by doing your eyebrows… I disagree with that statement. Anyone else? No. Okay I’m sorry, my mistake BUT I do my eyebrows using an angled eyeliner brush from E.L.F.’s Studio line and E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow Kit in Medium (the powder side only) and ‘shade’ in the basic shape of my eyebrows beginning in the arch and working my way to the outer part of the brow ^.^ and then tame those long things with a clear mascara… in this case from the following trend in today’s post- E.L.F.

Step Eight: While I’ve only tried two ‘setting sprays’ (E.L.F. Mist and Set and Basic Hairspray) today I chose to the ever so trusty Mist and Set setting spray- which I’m pretty sure is just water with benefits but hey, let me think im actually doing something. Do you have any recommendations for setting sprays? I’d LOVE to know!

Step Nine: Get the rest of your face on girl! ;)

And ladies and gentlemen… that is my Late Summer Flawless Face! Hope you enjoyed!

Welcome Back!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Welcome back? Yes! I have been neglecting my blog and YouTube channel for such a long time and I decided enough was enough! Truth is, I’ve had all these excuses as to why I wasn’t very active that I finally just stopped and admitted to myself that, everyone struggles and I needed to take a break from life in general. I was honestly very unhappy because I am overweight and my health isn’t the best in the world and i just wasn’t happy with life in general-a low point if you will. So I took a break! I took quite a long time off and during that time, I graduated, went to Disney and really found out that beauty isn’t everything I’m interested in. I started this blog thinking about one thing: beauty- don’t get me wrong I still love beauty and makeup and so on, but I also love cooking and fashion and planning and writing and so much more! I found it hard to only limit myself to beauty when as a person I am very broad as to what I like and what I don’t like.

Cut to the chase Kayla! Well, okay, only because you insisted! My blog- and I- are back up and running! In a new and improved way of course! Lace In Ruffles was simply about being pretty and feeling pretty and now its been through enough surgery that now its about being beYOUtiful! To be entirely honest, I barely wear makeup- I love it and I adore it but I just don’t wear it on a daily basis, only when me, myself, and I want to- or on a special occasion! So with that being said- I plan on doing much more with my blog. PSSSST. That even includes details on my diet and exercise!

What? Diet and exercise? Well, yes, of course! So many years I have struggled with my weight and tried so many “diets” and other things that eventually I would give up! But, not this time. I am fully committed because I would really just love to breathe better and not have to struggle to put on a pair of jeans and feel good in my own skin. I started a low carb diet (20 net carbs per day) on July 28th and I plan on doing this particular diet until I get to my goal weight, 150 pounds, or jean size, 12. That’s about 80 pounds to lose or 5 jean sizes. Once I get to my goal, I intend on going on a pure healthy diet. This includes salads and many vegetables. Why? For one, I would rather eat a ton of vegetables than anything else. For two, I don’t wanna feel this way ever again! For three, I want to know what healthy feels life- I have been overweight my whole life and its time for a change!

So what else do you plan on including with this blog of yours? I’m glad you asked! While there will be times that I take a break and doing things my own way- I plan on eventually writing a story! When I first started to learn to write and read, I would constantly be writing songs and eventually I wrote a few “books”. I am quite the interesting cookie underneath it all! So I plan on writing a few chapters at a time and posting them. That’s really odd, Kayla. Yeah, I know but I am a odd person with odd interests and I think its really important to be yourself. So that is exactly what I will be doing!

Did I mention that I applied for a job? I did! Hopefully one that wants me as much as I want to work there! I think it would be very beneficial to my mental health, physical health, personal needs and even beneficial to college! So there you have it. Welcome back!

My Disney Trip!

Hello Everyone!

If you are new to reading my blog then, welcome! If you are a consistent reader then thank you so much for all of your support, it means the absolute world to me! So as some of you may know, my parents took me to Disney World for a graduation gift and as my senior trip. I thought that it would be nice to sit down and sort of explain how the trip went and if you are planning a trip yourself then what you should expect. I have been to Disney about five times now since I was very small and I have a pretty good amount of knowledge of what to expect while at Disney. First off let me say this, this trip was very luxurious for all of us. Thanks to my grandparents.

We left Sunday, June 1st. Sunday because there was not very many people traveling to Orlando on this particular day of the week (Friday and Saturday are usually rough driving days). We left our home around 6:30 a.m. We own a mini van so all five of us humans (Daddy {who did most of the driving}, Momma, Granny, Brother, and myself) were not cramped in anyway, shape or form. Along the way we stopped at McDonalds for breakfast and again for lunch. We got to Westgate Vacation Villas Town Center around 3:30 p.m. We stayed in the newest built building and the villa we had was a two bedroom, two bath. So I had a whole room and bathroom to myself, which was very nice. I really recommend this place. My Grandma and Grandpa own a share of the condos and we only had to pay $60 for the whole week because of them, so that was awesome! The rest of the day we took it easy and rested and unpacked everything. My little brother went to the pool and I went to Walmart to pick up food items and then I went to the pool. I must also mention that the villa contained a small kitchen.
Here is a few pictures from our vacation... Check my Facebook page for more

Monday we went to Epcot for half of the day. Now Disney has this new thing called Fast Pass Plus, and to get a fast pass you have to go to these little stations and get your choices of rides, we wanted a fast pass for Soaring and along with that we got the fast pass for Journey to Imagination and Mission Earth. After we got the fast passes we went to Test Track (which we waited 50 minutes to ride), then we did Ellen's Energy ride, then Mission Earth, then Journey to Imagination (we used our fast pass for this), and then Soaring (we waited about 90 minutes to ride). We didn't go to any of the countries because that really isn't our cup of tea. We also found that with some rides it was easier to just wait in line as opposed to waiting for your fast pass time. FYI a fast pass is basically a separate line that basically allows you to cut the stand-by line. We ate at Electric Umbrella for about $60 for the five of us. The second half of the day was spent at Hollywood Studios. We did not get any fast passes for anything at this park. We rode The Great Movie Ride (which was amazing, it was my first time riding it), watched Beauty and the Beast, rode Star Tours, watched the Indiana Jones Stunt Show, and then watched Fantasmic (The night show- 3 of the 4 theme parks have a night show). Afterwards we were so tired we went to the condo. There we ate little nick-nacks, took our showers, and went to bed.
Tuesday we went to Animal Kingdom for half of the day. Surprisingly this was my least favorite park on this particular trip. It's much like a zoo. We rode Dinosaurs (a ride that we fast passed), watched It's a Bug's Life, saw the Tree of Life, Watched the Lion King, and rode the river rapids (which we fast passed and waited in line for about 20 minutes even with a fast pass). We ate at Flame Tree BBQ for about $70 for the five of us. For the second half of the day we went back to Hollywood Studios and rode The Great Movie Ride (again), watched The Voyage of the Little Mermaid (which I loved), watched Jack Sparrow (I don't remember the full name of it but it was the stupidest thing ever and a complete waste of time-such a disappointment) and rode Toy Story Mania (which we waited for 90 minutes to ride- it wasn't awful but I wouldn't ride it again). Afterwards I did a tiny bit of shopping and then we left to go back to the condo and repeated the same process.
Wednesday we went to Magic Kingdom, by far our favorite park. We rode the monorail over (and the Ferry boat back) and we watched the morning parade (by no choice of course. I am not very interested in parades so this was one of the only ones we watched) we headed to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and decided to hold off on it because there was a 90 minute wait that early in the day so we rode Goofy's Barnstormer. Then we rode It's A Small World, Winnie The Pooh's ride, Big Thunder Mountain (a 90 minute wait), Splash Mountain (a 90 minute wait), Pirates of the Caribbean (20 minute wait with fastpass), Carousal of Progress, watched the Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan's Flight, watched the Enchanted Tiki Room watched Mickey's Philharmagic, watched Mosters Inc. laugh floor, watched Enchanted Tales with Belle and watched Country Bear Jamboree. On this day we ate at Diamond Horseshoe for about $60. Then we went to the condo and we actually got a rotisserie chicken, chicken salad, and chicken and broccoli alfredo from the local grocery store located inside the resort area.
Thursday we went back to the Magic Kingdom. We rode to ferry boat over and the monorail back. For us, this was only a half a day because the pace was so fast for all of us that we actually started getting cranky with each other. We first rode The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and it was well worth the wait, my review of this is that if you like Big Thunder Mountain, you'll like this. It has about 3, maybe 4, small drops in it and to be honest it is a little smoother than Big Thunder Mountain. I kid you not we waited about 2 hours to ride this. Afterwards, we ate at Be Our Guest. I LOVED IT! It was a dream come true and everything we ate was amazing and delicious and perfect! We spent about $80 but we purchased cupcakes to share. Truth be told, if you want to eat there for lunch you'll wait in line for about an hour. My mom held a spot in line for us while we rode the mine train and by the time we got off we still had to wait. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! We rode Tomorrowland's Speedway, Stitch's Great Escape, Space Mountain,  Pirates of the Caribbean (yes, again), and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. We didn't ride much but we enjoyed it. We left around 5:30 p.m. and had plans to come back to the park to watch fireworks but we didn't because we saw the show two years ago (and because I wanted to soak in the Jacuzzi that was located in our room). Might I also add that for dinner we had a hotdog from Casey's Corner. AMAZING!
Friday we were going to go to DisneyQuest but decided to take the day off, relax, sleep in, and us girls decided to go to the gift shops and see what they had... it was sure fun. Afterwards we went back to the condo and ordered pizza and went swimming. Not much but we really enjoyed Kissimmee, Florida.
Saturday, we were supposed to go to the zoo in Orlando but instead we went to DisneyQuest and Downtown Disney. What is DisneyQuest? If you like video games, you'll like this... its basically an interactive arcade. For me, it was a waste of money (almost $300 for 5 of us) and time. I would suggest researching this and seeing if its something you'd really wanna do. I loved Downtown Disney. It was basically a ton of shopping and I really love shopping. I will have a haul up soon (on either Lace in Ruffles Blog or LaceinRuffles Vlog Channel on YouTube). We ate at Planet Hollywood, which I also thought was a waste of time and money, it was really overpriced ($90 even for our meal), not very yummy and really loud. Not my cup of tea! So we got home pretty late and had to pack our belongings to get ready to leave on Sunday ( :( ). I'm not gonna lie... I have missed everything about Disney and Westgate Resort Villas! It was just magical!
Sunday we drove back to Alabama. Sad day.
